The course will take runners\, walkers\, and wheelchair athletes through a scenic route along the St. Johns River and the beautiful neighborhoods of San Marco. \nProceeds from the event will support the Nemours Children’s Health\, Jacksonville  Compassionate Care Fund\, which restores the health of critically ill and injured children wherever the need is greatest. However\, teams and individuals that raise $5\,000 or more can designate their funds to support a department of their choice at Nemours Children’s Health\, Jacksonville. \nParticipants of all ages will enjoy activities in the Runner’s Village\, including music courtesy of our energetic DJ\, sponsor booths\, an exciting Kid Zone with games and inflatables\, mascots\, photo opportunities\, food\, and refreshments. \nWe expect 1\,000 runners\, walkers\, wheelchair athletes and their cheerleaders to join us. SUMMARY:Oktoberfest - Beer & Brats 5K
DESCRIPTION:5K starts at 5:00pm \nJoin us for an Oktoberfest evening in San Marco Square for a festive 5K and one mile run/walk though scenic San Marco followed by free beer and brats. Create a festive Octoberfest experience by wearing a traditional Tracht (Tra-oct) outfit. Women dress up in a dirndl (Deern-dul) dress and men sport your lederhosen (Lay-der-hozen) shorts. All entrants will receive a race shirt and an official custom designed beer mug and two free beers and a brat. Tepeyolot Cerveceria brewery will be brewing a special beer just for this event and the beer will be served (first two beers free to participants) at different locations in the Square. DESCRIPTION:Registration information coming soon. \nThe Dragon Run benefits: \nThe Nathaniel Boerlin Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to the passions of Nate Boerlin.  Nate was a proud 16 year old honor student at Kingsway Regional High School who also excelled as a percussionist.  Nate died suddenly in April 2007\, from complications of a GBM\, GLIOBLASTOMA  MULTIFORME\, an aggressive stage IV brain cancer.  All proceeds from the Race will benefit the NBSF\, where a perpetual scholarship is given to a deserving graduate from KRHS who emulates Nate’s passions for learning and music. \n
