DESCRIPTION:Our race is held annually on Founders weekend and celebrates the founding of the Town of Charlton\, NY. The race is just one of many fun and entertaining events scheduled for the Town of Charlton Founders weekend. \nThe race benefits the Charlton Historical Society and its mission to preserve the historical buildings and artifacts in the Town and to educate all who are interested in the history of our community. \nThe 5K course is a challenging mix of rolling hills and flats through the picturesque back roads of this sleepy rural Saratoga County hamlet. We start at the Old Red School House and complete the out and back course to finish at the beautiful St. Paul’s Church built in 1804.

DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe Farmville 5K & Fun Run will be held on Saturday May 18th\, 2024. The 5K course starts and finishes at Farmville’s Town Common and features a scenic run along Farmville’s athletic field\, golf course\, library\, arboretum\, and through both new and historic neighborhoods in a family-friendly town.  The Fun Run will follow the first 1.2 miles of the 5K course\, turning off at the Town Common towards the finish line. This event is being supported by Farmville Parks & Recreation. \nThe 5k will start promptly at 8 am\, and the Fun Run will start shortly thereafter. \nThe 5K will be chip timed by Run the East LLC using disposable chips attached to each race bib.  The Fun Run will not be chip-timed. \nEvent t-shirt in preferred size guaranteed to all participants registered by April 24th. \nRegistration fees are non-refundable. You will see beach cruisers\, to road bikes\, and all styles in between. Whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist\, the Tour de Cure has a little something for everyone. \nThe Tour de Cure: Mid-Atlantic event starts in the quaint and charming town of Smithfield\, then travels through the peaceful countryside of Isle of Wight and Surry Counties. All the routes will be well-marked and fully supported with bike mechanics\, volunteer route marshals\, rest stops with food and water\, cheering volunteers\, and more! When you return to the start/finish line\, you will enjoy a delicious post-ride meal\, adult beverage\, massage\, and finisher medal and delight in the music\, fun zone\, cheers\, and camaraderie around you. \nChampion Riders\, be sure to head over to the golden Champions Tent for your special thank-you gift. \nRed Riders\, be sure to stop by the Living Red Tent for your Red Rider jersey. \nChoose your distance and know that every mile helps make a difference. Whether you choose to ride in person or virtually\, all the roads we take will lead to the same destination – to fundraise for a cure and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. \nAA will be participating in the 30 mile ride this year.
