SUMMARY:Portage Lakes Triathlon & Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:PORTAGE LAKES STATE PARK\nSeptember 13\, 2026\n– The Portage Lakes Triathlon & Duathlon takes place at the 411-acre Portage Lakes Creek State Park outside Akron\, Ohio. Triathletes will be treated to swim courses in the beautiful Portage Lake. Duathletes will start off with a fast out and back run within the park. The bike courses are described as challenging with several climbs that will test your fitness but enough flat roads to recover and make up time. The final run is an out and back run that features a scenic run through the park on paved park roads. \nPortage Lake State Park offers a variety of outdoor recreational experiences. Boating\, sailing\, water skiing\, swimming and fishing are amongst some of the park’s most popular activities. The Portage Lake wetlands attract waterfowl and shorebirds providing park visitors enjoyment whether hunting or observing wildlife. \nSHIRT OR NO SHIRT\, EITHER WAY\, YOU WIN! \nEverything costs too much these days\, and we want to help! All entry fees for 2026 HFP’s Ohio multisport race series have been reduced by the cost of the race shirt to allow you to forgo the additional cost.  And if you want to memorialize your soon-to-be PR\, you have the option to purchase a race t-shirt when you register. DESCRIPTION:GOURDY’S PUMPKIN RUN (aka GPR)\nBy now\, you know that Gourdy’s Pumpkin Run is a race that celebrates our favorite season. Over the last decade\, 500\,000+ fall-natics have helped shape the race to what it is today. Everyone has their own reason for showing up on race morning. Ours? It’s a great excuse to get outdoors\, enjoy some apple cider\, all with a healthy dose of exercise in the autumn air! \n\nThe event has been bringing all the joys of the season since 2012. \n\n \nMEET GOURDY.\nNamesake of the race. While he loves running\, he never takes it too seriously. \n\n \nFUN FOR EVERYONE!\nGourdy’s Pumpkin Run has always been an event for all. Runners\, walkers\, skippers\, and joggers are welcome! \nJOIN THE 5K.\nThe only tough choice you have to make is whether you want to join a location-based race or opt for the Virtual Run. In-person races are held on specific dates + times (a traditional race experience).
