DESCRIPTION:Pender County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special OlympicsSaturday\, May 16th \nEvent Details: \nThis will be a 5 Mile route starting from Hampstead United Methodist Church (15395 US-17\, Hampstead\, NC 28443) and ending at the NHRMC Emergency Department North at 151 Scotts Hill Medical Drive Wilmington\, NC. \nThe run will cover a total of 5 miles\, but participants do not need to run the entire distance as there will be Prison Emergency Response vehicles & bus traveling with our group for transportation. You can chose how many miles you want to run\, whether it be 1 mile or all 5 miles.  We ask that everyone start the run together and then again at the last 0.25 as a group\,  so we can get a great group photo of all the runners. We will be joining representatives from DPS- SHP\, DPS- Prison (Pender CI & New Hanover CC)\, Pender County Sheriff\, Burgaw Police Department\, and Surf City Police Department. Only members of law enforcement\, military and Special Olympics Athletes may carry the torch. Athlete riders who are also Special Olympics athletes are invited to participate.There are no team pairings as everyone will be switching off pushing our athlete riders so that anyone who wants the opportunity to push may take turns doing so. \nAll participants/volunteers must check in at the Volunteer tent at the Pender County Annex\, turn in the mandatory waiver forms and pick up your t-shirt. All participants and volunteers are also required to purchase a 2026 Torch Run t-shirt ($25) and wear it for the run that day. Shirts will be available for pickup Saturday morning. (Cash\, check & Square available).

Join us in downtown Newport at Shortway Brewing for the Red\, White & Brews 5K\, a patriotic run celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary. \nThis event is a community celebration of American pride! Runners and spectators alike are strongly encouraged to dress in patriotic attire!! \nThe race kicks off and finishes at Shortway Brewing Co. in the heart of downtown Newport\, where the celebration continues after the finish line. Stick around to cool down\, raise a glass\, and toast to 250 years of American spirit. Food trucks will be onsite on race day. \nRed\, White & Brews is a USATF Certified 5k course located in Newport\, NC. Race day is Saturday\, May 30\, 2026 at 9:00 am. \nParticipants will receive a t-shirt\, finisher medal\, and 1 post-run pint at the after party! ***All participants subject to ID check.***\n***T-Shirt size is not guaranteed for registrations after 4/15. \n*** Awards will be given to overall top 3 males & females and the top 2 in each age division for both males and females. Age Divisions are 14 & under\, 15-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70 & above. A water station will be located at the halfway point of the course. \nPacket pickup will take place Wednesday\, May 27th 6-8 PM at Shortway Brewing Co. or you can pick up the morning of the race starting at 8 am at the registration table located behind the brewery on Haskett St. \nOnline registration will close at 11:59 PM on Tuesday\, May 26th or when the race sells out. \nWaitlist will open after race is full and will be on a first come first served basis. If a spot becomes available\, first in line will receive an email and have 24 hours to register before it moves to the next in line.

DESCRIPTION:Beaufort Bridge Run 5k  & 1+ Mile Dog Strut \nThe Beaufort Lions Club is pleased to announce our 8th Annual Beaufort Bridge Run 5K Race and 1+ Mile Dog Strut on November 7\, 2026\, with the course going on and over the two bridges in Beaufort. These events are the only ones to feature both Beaufort bridges – the high-rise Gallants Channel (Grayden Paul) Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge. With this run/walk event\, the Beaufort Lions Club will be starting our 2nd decade of fundraising road races. Previous events of this popular Fall race were the Glow Run in 2015 and 2016\, the Front Street Gallop races in 2017 and 2018\, the inaugural Beaufort Bridge Run in 2019 and 6 more BBRs starting in 2020 going through 2025\, attracting hundreds of participants – running\, walking and barking for charitable causes supported by the Beaufort Lions Club. The Beaufort Bridge Run is a ‘race destination’ for elite\, casual and novice runners (and walkers)\, literally giving the participants – locals and visitors – a spectacular view of our amazing town! \nDogs are only allowed to participate in the Dog Strut. No dogs allowed in the 5K on the high-rise bridge per the NCDOT! \nStrollers are welcome in both events! \nRemember\, the first 200 to sign up will get a BBR2026 T-shirt! Register by October 5\, 2026 to guarantee size. ONE SHIRT PER PAID PARTICIPANT. FREE T-SHIRTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR RUNNERS UNDER 12 YEARS OLD\, but can be purchased separately in advance\, if available. T-shirts must be picked up at early registration or race day.
